The Gridley Street Project

We are proud to announce that our two-home project in Bristol’s West End neighborhood will be complete before summer ends. The two-family home at 63 Gridley is complete and the single-family home at 147 Gridley is nearing completion. Both homes will be sold to families of moderate income. Neighborhood Housing Services of New Britain, our partner in this project, is offering the homes for sale to first-time home buyers who meet income limits and other qualifications. These homes replace two long-standing vacant lots that were an eyesore in the neighborhood and have already improved the look and feel of Gridley Street. In addition, Greater Bristol Homes has committed $5,000 to a Streetscape Improvement Grant Program which will make ten $500 grants to qualifying homeowners to improve their properties and enhance Gridley Street’s appearance. We’ve already seen the pick-up, clean-up, spruce-up phenomenon happening in the neighborhood and we’re hopeful the grant program will serve to expand and accelerate that process.
